Workshop Title: Intro to Riq’a Style Calligraphy
This workshop is an introduction to the different styles of calligraphy with a hands-on lesson on the basic elements of the Riq’a style. You will learn how to write letters in Riq’a calligraphy. It is a great first time lesson for anyone interested in taking a step toward the beautiful art of Arabic calligraphy. While it would be beneficial for you to know the Arabic alphabet, it is not required.

About the Instructor: Lubna Shaikh is a California native who studied fine arts at San Jose State University. Having a passion for Arabic Calligraphy, she traveled to Cairo and studied under Master Arabic Calligrapher Ustadh Syed Fathy. Lubna also teaches Art and Arabic Calligraphy in the community.
